If single, what kind of standards // boundaries have you chosen to have in terms of your dating life? I know the ones I have, and I look forward to sharing that and my single life in the future.
For Gracefully Overcoming, I have started writing little snippets of wisdom or devotions… and I am enjoying it. I am loving this opportunity to share my life with others and to encourage you all in your walk with our Savior Jesus Christ!
[When you go to the blog’s website, you can set it up to receive emails for each devotional I post.]
Though single, I have spent alot of time thinking about boundaries and standards in dating and relationships with the opposite sex.
Even though I am 32 and have chosen to not date, I still believe God has kept me safe and continues to guide me as I live this set apart life!
Are you guys familiar with 1 Thessalonians 4? It speaks much truth to our lonely and seeking hearts, which is a huge issue whether we find ourselves married, dating, single, or choosing to remain unmarried as a worship offering.
“Finally, brothers, we urge and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have learned from us how you ought to walk and to please God, you should excel more and more. For you know what commands we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the lust of depravity, even as the Gentiles who do not know God, and that no man take advantage of and defraud his brother in any matter, because the Lord is the avenger in all these things, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God has not called us to uncleanness, but to holiness (1 Thessalonians 4:1-7, MEV).”
Our dating choices can be sacred worship to our King if we allow it.
Choosing to cleave to Jesus Christ no matter who comes our way. Even if they are cute or make a lot of money, we can allow the Lord Jesus Christ to stay the King of our lives.
We can allow our Mighty God to be glorified in what we say and do!
“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him (Colossians 3:17).”
