I long for the day, when meeting with the Lord Jesus and opening my Bible becomes second nature to me again. The moments where I automatically dive into the Word of God – without having to push past the feelings and symptoms first.
Today, I will be studying Day 2 of our 31 Days of Psalms and Proverbs. As I study, my goal is to read and write. Begin with a few sentences that come to mind. Specific Scriptures I want to underline in my heart. So, let us begin! You can learn more about this 31 Days and how to join the YouVersion community by visiting yesterday’s first blog post.
On the heavy fatigue and pain days, I am learning to take it one chapter at a time. Or maybe even one specific verse at a time. As long as I keep reaching for my Bible and draw nearer to our Savior Jesus, then, I am doing exactly what I need to be doing.
How are we allowing our circumstances to draw us nearer to our Savior Jesus and reach for our Bibles?Tweet
Psalm 2 –
In verse three, “free ourselves from slavery to God” is what stood out to me. These folks were quite misled and by their desire for sin.
In the New Testament, we are taught greatly about how we have been enslaved to our sin. But, Jesus Christ – our Savior and Lord – has come to break those chains. He came to set us free from our sins and their chains.
But in this passage, we see people coming against God.
We need to realize the effects of what we are enslaved to. What are the outcomes of a life lived where our highest goal is to please our God and Savior Jesus, in comparison to a life enslaved to disobeying our heavenly Father?
Our God is the One who rules. He is the One with all authority on heaven and earth. We need to think about what we are enslaved to. Being willfully glued to our Lord Jesus Christ is what I want to move toward.
Psalm 32 –
“What joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those who record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!” – verses 1-2
There is nothing like the joy and peace we can experience when we are made right (reconciled) to our God through His Son Jesus Christ! Let your soul marinate on this biblical truth, friends.
Psalm 62 –
“Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him.” – verse 5
Psalm 92 –
“You thrill me, Lord, with all You have done for me! I sing for joy because of what You have done.” – verse 4
Psalm 122 –
Being a part of His Church is a beautiful gift! How are we willfully joining others as we walk toward Jesus Christ in our daily lives – together?
Proverbs 2 –
Our goal needs to be to seek Christ with whatever we have to give.
Listen to this one verse on wisdom.
“Tune your ears to wisdom and concentrate on understanding.” – verse 2
