FMF: Loyalty

Loyalty: faithful in allegiance (Merriam Webster).

In the Bible, God’s Word, we learn a great deal about loyalty.

  1. We see God as loyal to His chosen people.
  2. We are reminded of our urgency to be faithful to God.

What We Need: Faithfulness

Faithfulness is what we need. Unfortunately, we live in a world where faithfulness feels like a thing of the past. We live in a world, where many lack faithfulness. Many today struggle to commit to a phone plan, much less to their significant other, friends, family, or more importantly – to our great God.

The Faithfulness of God

God has gone out of His way, literally, to display His faithfulness to His chosen people. Even though we have ran away from God, He has chosen to send His Son Jesus Christ. He died on the cross for our sins. He rose again on the third day. He came to give us life. Abundant life. {See John 3:16, 19:1-20:18}

Our risen Lord is our best example of what true faithfulness looks like!

Our Devotion

Let’s consider our own lives.

How have we devoted ourselves to God and His Son Jesus Christ? And to our relationships?

While faithfulness is not always easy, it is absolutely blessed by God. When we choose to trust the Lord with our lives, He will guide our steps. God will bless our efforts and give us the strength to stay faithful – as we seek to live out our purpose and seek to obey God in everything!

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him (Hebrews 11:6).”

  1. Faithfulness is so important and it does seem to be lacking in a lot of places in our world. It is always comforting to remember that whatever else is changing, God is always absolutely faithful! Visiting from FMF #8.

  2. This is so encouraging. Unfortunately, I am one of those many people who have a hard time being loyal in the sense that you write about. Thansk for helping me along the way towards faithfulness.
