Five Minute Friday – Hope is a Trustworthy Anchor

Our hope cannot be only when things are going our way. Our hope must be deeper, firmer than that. Despite all the hard times that we can experience, there is still a great hope – greater than anything in this world. A hope that is eternal. A hope that doesn’t fade. It will never fade. What are we hoping for?

“This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls (Hebrews 6:19).”

Jesus Christ, our Savior, our friend, our ever-present help.
He is the anchor for our souls.
He is our everlasting hope!

This is what faith is. Placing our trust and hope in Him. It is recognizing the hope we have in our Savior, Jesus. Even when things are difficult, cling to the hope found in Him.

Living a life marked by trusting Christ is a daily choice. That choice is still a choice, even when faced with great trials.

Job, the man who lost everything, made the choice to trust God, and God carried him through his trials. God delivered Job. Job kept his hope in God, and the hope he had in God was secure. Is our faith in God secure? How is our circumstances shaking our faith in Christ? Are we keeping our eyes on this real hope we have in Him?

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see… And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him (Hebrews 11:1, 6).”

  1. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, HOPE.

Now HOPE does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
    (‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭3-5‬ NKJV)
